CHARITY
Rennie Grove Hospice Care is a charity providing care and support for adults and children diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illness and their families. Every year through Rennie Grove Hospice they provide 24/7 Hospice at Home service, Family Support service and a range of Day Services at Grove House to give thousands of patients the choice to stay at home, surrounded by their families and friends. They also offer end of life care to patients and support to their families in a wide catchment area that covers parts of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
They rely heavily on public support to raise around 85% of their annual running costs. It is the generosity of people like you that allows them to help all the families who need the support of Rennie Grove Hospice Care and this is why we have chosen to support the work that they do.

Daisy FM has been liaising with the Clarion House Foundation for the past few months (from September 2020) since commencing work on the Sir Robert McAlpine project located within Victoria Square, Woking. Our mission was to provide opportunities to individuals that have had a difficult time gaining employment. In addition to this, these individuals were also provided housing supplied by the foundation.
We consider it a privilege to be able to work with disadvantaged individuals and to teach them skills which they can then use to further their career. Construction is considered an industry that is proven to be very resilient; during the pandemic for example, the construction sector resisted any formal shutdown either by government or legislation.

In order to work on any building site within the UK, it is a legal requirement to hold certain health and safety certificates; without these certificates, individuals will not be able to even walk onto a building site (although you may visit welfare and security but would not be allowed onto the building site itself).
Our courses provide individuals with the basics required to be able to walk onto a site with a solid understanding of health and safety. Clarion House Foundation fund all training required for the individuals that they have promised to help, in addition to obtaining certificates such as CSCS cards. Daisy FM employ these trained individuals at the same rate as other typical staff that we hire (ensuring that they are not disadvantaged or paid less than anyone else). In addition, our site supervisors possess many years of experience and have been tasked with monitoring their work and assisting them in developing their skills further.

This model of training set out by the Foundation, combined with the award of certifications and prospects of a career with Daisy FM, has proven to change the attitude and lives of individuals who are have a minimal chance within the work environment and who are genuinely seeking an opportunity to work and to remove themselves from the circumstances that they find themselves in.
We continue to work with Clarion House to help support people within the community, and to provide jobs to local people as opposed to sourcing them from outside of the local the area; this is part of our commitment to support employment within the community.
Clarion House is currently assisting us in sourcing potential staff located near to Cambridge and Cambridgeshire. We look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.
